FigureCosmos sells officially licensed LINGCAGE collectibles — busts produced under license of the Ling Cage (灵笼) IP with engraved edition numbers and studio-signed certificates.
Licensing is the line between a collectible and a counterfeit. Every LINGCAGE bust we stock — the ASH 1/4 polystone bust and the LIN YUANZHE ABYSSAL bust — is produced under official authorization of the Ling Cage rights holders, carries an engraved edition number on the base, and ships with a studio-signed certificate. If a seller cannot show all three, treat the piece as unverified.
How to read the major figure makers: each studio occupies a different tier of the hobby.
- Good Smile Company — the Japanese mainstream giant: Nendoroid and scale-figure lines with broad anime coverage and consistent factory quality; the default entry point for new collectors.
- Kotobukiya — sculpt-first Japanese veteran, strongest in mecha and bishoujo lines; its model-kit arm rewards builders who want display presence at lower cost than prepainted statues.
- Bandai / Bandai Spirits — the industry's engineering powerhouse: Gundam kits, Tamashii Nations collectibles, and prize figures spanning every budget tier.
- LINGCAGE (licensed Chinese studio line) — premium 1/4 scale busts of the Ling Cage IP, hand-painted polystone and PVC/ABS with lighting and alloy bases, sold in numbered editions of 500-999.
- Resin garage studios — small-batch casters producing the sharpest detail in the hobby, with the longest lead times and the least buyer protection.
Counterfeit figures follow a checklist, and knowing it takes most of the risk out of buying.
- Price — a "1/4 polystone bust" at a third of retail is not a deal; materials alone forbid it.
- Certificate and edition number — limited pieces ship with studio-signed certificates and engraved numbering; counterfeiters fake stickers, not engraved metal.
- Paint quality — factory hand-finishing shows clean edge lines and graded weathering; bootlegs show bleed, fuzz, and flat single-coat colors.
- Packaging — foam cradles cut to the sculpt, branded cartons, and instruction leaflets; generic styrofoam is a red flag.
- Seller — buy from authorized retailers or the studio directly; marketplace drop-shippers with no returns policy are the primary counterfeIt channel.
